The center of Korean classical music with an
artistic spirit and clean natural environment
As the birthplace of Nangye Park Yeon, Yeongdong County has been dedicating its efforts to foster the local musicians and transform our region into the center of gugak as a way to pay tribute to the great musician and associate gugak with Nangye Park Yeon and Yeongdong. This is part of the effort to globalize gugak, the Korean classical music, and to provide opportunities for the global music enthusiasts and musicians to listen to and be captivated by gugak.
The Nangye Museum of Traditional Music was established with an aim to restore the former house of Nangye and maintain his grave in the Nangye Shrine area, and the Nangye Korean Classical Instruments Production Village was founded to allow visitors to learn all about derivatives of gugak created as the result of Nangye's efforts.
