Nangye Korean Traditional Music Experience Center

Significance of Establishment
- Nangye Korean Music Instrument Experience Center was established with an aim to succeed and
develop the great musical achievement of Nangye Park Yeon. The Center contributes to the
promotion of Yeongdong as the center of gugak and the global hub of traditional culture.

Exhibition
- In the experience section, there are 8 types of Korean classical music instruments on
display, which include gayageum, geomungo, haegeum, piri, daegeum, pyeonjong, pyeongyeong
and danso.
- It is an educational center containing a small theater that can accommodate up to 136 people
as well as an experience hall, private practice room, video seminar room, 4 guest rooms and
cafeteria.

Musical Instruments Visitors Can Experience
- 40 types of string instruments including gayageum and geomungo, 73 wind instruments in
addition to daegeum, 195 types of percussion instruments in addition to janggu, 10 types of
sangmo, 10 types of chaesang, and 10 types of buksang

Center Information
- Open Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Closure: January 1st, Seolnal (Lunar New Year's day), Chuseok holiday, every Monday and the
day after a legal
holiday (except during the Nangye Traditional Music Festival)

Prohibited Activities
- Smoking, taking pictures, making loud noises, causing viewing disruptions, vandalizing the
facilities, interfering with the related public officials' work, etc.
